Programs

The following PG Degree Programs are offered:

The M.Com Program is offered with subject-specific electives in  Accounting, Auditing, Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Law, and Investment Banking; and sector-specific electives like Management of Banking Companies, Management of Insurance Companies, Management of MNCs and Management of Financial Institutions.

The M.A. Program is offered in 7 disciplines namely; Economics, English, History, Politics, Psychology, Public Administration and Sociology.

The M.Sc. Program is offered in 2 disciplines namely; Mathematics and Statistics.

The L.L.M. Program is offered with electives in Environmental Law, Cyber Law, International Business Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Securities Law and Intellectual Property Rights.

The M.L.Sc. Program is offered with focus on information processing, information processing, information sources and information institutions; application of IT in library science and management of libraries.

The M.J. Program is offered covering the latest in mass communications, business communications, media, business journalism and electronic media journalism.

Program Structure

The two year PG degree programs consist of 12 subjects divided into 6 groups of 2 subjects each. Of the total 12 subjects, 2 will be core subjects namely:

  • Communication and Soft skills [not included in M.A. (English)]

  • Research Methodology.

The one year PG degree programs consist of 8 subjects divided into 4 groups of 2 subjects each.

Validity of Enrollment

The validity of enrollment into the program is seven years from the date of enrollment. Students who are unable to complete the program within the validity period of seven years, but still keen on continuing the program, are required to register de novo by paying the requisite fee. Students who study regularly and appear for examinations every quarter may complete the respective program in the specified time period.

Study and Examinations

The PG degree programs are based on self-study and examinations.

Self-Study : The University provides a detailed study plan and prescribed books specially designed and published and meant for self-study.

Examinations : The examinations serve to finally assess and certify the students' understanding of the subjects.

Examinations

The examinations serve to finally assess the students understanding of the subject and level of skill development. The examinations are conceived, developed and administered on a rigorous system with a view to groom professionals in different areas of finance, management and law.

Examinations are conducted four times a year in January, April, July and October at Aizwal, Mizoram.

Students Regulations Book

All students will be provided with Students Regulations Book which contains the various rules and regulations including detailed curriculum, examinations schedule, major  and minor disciplines, etc.
