  • Activities during Covid-19 Lockdown and the Lockdown Guidelines of the University

    The University was running the even semester classes, when the national lockdown due to Covid-19 outbreak happened. Many of the students returned back to the safety of their rural homes, and have remained there as the nation was continuing its fight against the disease. This has resulted in complete shutdown of the physical operations. In order to avoid major hindrances in the academic, the examination, and the administration systems a proper Lockdown Guidelines was formulated for compliance by all concerned.

  • Serving the community by providing admissions to stranded students

    During first wave of COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of students of Mizoram, who were pursuing their education in different parts of the country, had come back home for safety in the mid of their semesters, and had a very dim chance of going back to their respective institutions to resume their studies. Under these circumstances, the university, with due approval of authorities, stepped in to help the stranded students by offering them admission in its ongoing courses, through Lateral Entry Mode by following the established procedures, so as to give them a chance to complete their studies without forfeiting the credits they had acquired in their previous institutions.

    A Blood Donation Camp was organized in collaboration with NSS Cell, and Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Mizoram, at the Aizawl Civil Hospital Blood Bank on May 6, 2020

  • Green Mizoram Day

    On July 17, 2020, the Green Mizoram Day was observed at the University campus by clearing the roadside weeds and cleaning the plantation areas. In addition, a short gathering on the occasion was conducted where essential commodities was donated to Covid-19 Local Task Force of Durtlang North and Selesih. Prior permission for the conduct of the activity was obtained from the Magistrate through the Councilor of the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC).

  • Shoe Drive Mission

    Students of Social work Department organized ‘Shoe Drive’ on January 22, 2020. They donated more than 50 pairs of shoes each for children and adults at TNT Home at Zuangtui and other locality of Aizawl, Mizoram. The department also observed International Women’s Day organized by Social Welfare Department and launching of Poshan Pakhwada held at Synod Conference Centre on March 9, 2020.

  • Orientation Program for Freshers

    The new batch of students of the session 2020-2021 was welcomed with an Orientation Program on November 23, 2020 conducted at the University Auditorium. The said programme was chaired by Dr. David Lawmzuala, Registrar and was followed by a short speech from the Vice-Chancellor Dr. C. Dothanga (IPS Rtd).

  • Bank of Baroda Financial Solutions Ltd

    Bank of Baroda (BoB) Financial Solutions Ltd. was requested for accommodating students for SIP for of BBA IV and MBA II. Upon request, details of the students were sent to their HR. Interview was held on July 27, 2020, however due to COVID-19 pandemic no further communication was received from their end. In the absence of any response the Summer Internship under BoB was carried out through work from home.

    The Placement Officer visited Taj Vivanta and Double Tree by Hilton, Panaji, Goa for a company contact programme along with the students of Hospitality & Tourism. It was a great achievement to conclude with prospects for offer letter to the students upon completion of their internship.

  • Meeting on Skill Development

    A meeting with the representatives of Medhavi Foundation, Aizawl Centre, a skill institute registered under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, was held on June 30, 2020 to explore the possibilities of collaboration, in which the students of the University would be guided and assisted in their final placement free of cost by the Institute.
